Ex (who has disappeared but resurfaces every few months to see Owen for 5 minutes) was with his sister today. His sister called me this afternoon to tell me that ex told her he has a week paid vacation coming up. Good for him, I don't care. She then went on to say that he plans on taking his vacation the first week of October. Fine, whatever- right? She then tells me that he told her that he's going to take that whole week off because that's the week of Owen's birthday

Ummm.... alright. Odd considering he spends no time with his son, but whatever. She goes on to say he plans on calling me to ask if he can have Owen for the whole week.

Uhhhh.... let me think about that one

Now I'm really interested in whether he's actually going to call me. He is constantly telling his family he's going to call me "tomorrow" but I've not actually received this phone call. He must mean the other tomorrow

I'm calm about it because he's got virtually no chance of this happening. I'm not willingly handing Owen over to him. If he wants to take me to court for it more power to him. He'll just have to explain to the judge why exactly he stopped showing up for visits almost 9 months ago (and why when he was doing his visits he refused to take ds for any longer than 3 hours ata time). Why he doesn't call or see Owen (the only 3 times he's seen him in the last 9 months have been total flukes- when I bring ds to see ex's parents and ex just happens to be there). Why he's moved and not given me a phone number or address or any way to contact him. Not to mention the fact he has a warrent out for his arrest for violating a court order from last time we were in front of the judge. Nope, I have no worries that he's actually going to get ds for a whole week in october.

my sons father is the same way and i have chosen to do just that : let him take ME to court..

I doubt he will, but i think you are doing a great job

Its unfortunate that some little guys have to deal with there prick fathers breaking thier little hearts over and over

Aw, I'm sorry

Well, so far I haven't heard from him. Despite the fact ds was in the hospital getting all those tests done (trying to, anyway). I know he knew about it (his parents told him since I have no way to contact him) but I never even got a phone call asking how he was doing

Just once I would like to make HIM hold down Owen while he's screaming bloody murder during a blood draw or IV. But, then again, ex doesn't seem to have any feeling so it probably wouldn't bother him

Pretty sad when I get more phone calls asking how Owen's doing from someone who is not his father, and has never even met him, than I do from his actual "father".

Well, in all fairness they do get my side of the story (at times they've said they talk to me more than they do him these days). He was living at home up until earlier this year so his parents saw him sleeping through visits, faking being sick so he didn't have to come pick him up, etc. They finally said enough is enough and if he's not going to step up to the plate then they weren't going to allow him to live with them. He chose to move out instead of have a relationship with Owen. So they do know at least part of the truth. Whether they believe some of the lies he tells them or not, I don't know. I know whenever he tells them something about Owen or I, they come to me and ask if it's true.

It's just another way he's trying to make himself look good.
He still wants his family and friends to believe he's a good guy, so he tells them this even though he has no intent on following through.

It's like when he told everyone that you won't let him see Owen. Same thing. He just wants people to believe he's a good guy.

Is that what it is. My ex is complaining to other people about his portion of babysitting costs which he STILL has not reimbursed me for as though he's been paying it all along.
