Halfway there!

441 Views 14 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  marymamma
I'm 20 weeks from my LMP. Guess I'm halfway there. Too bad it's the second half that takes forever! I think pregnancy is about 4 months too long.

Dang, I need an attitude adjustment. It's a little too obvious that I hate being pregnant.

Hmm...now this is officially a venting post.

So, congrats to the other who are hitting the halfway point this week.

Tell us what has been your favorite and least favorite part of your pregnancy thus far, and what you're looking most forward and least forward to in the next half!

Favorite thing: I was only sick a few days and threw up 3 times! I was sick for about 9 weeks last time and threw up all day long. Nice difference!

Least favorite: Headaches...I get them all the time now.

Looking forward to: seeing how my dd reacts to my belly when it gets huge.

Not looking forward to: Getting huge!

Aww I'm jealous of all the early September mamas. I'm only 16 weeks from LMP.

But congrats!

I'm almost halfway, so here goes:

Favorite thing-I never threw up. I did get nauseous though.

Least favorite thing-MIGRAINES!!!!! I get them 3 times a week...need I say more?
Yay! Yay for halfway! It's hard to believe.

Favorite thing: Feeling flutters.
And DH being excited.

Least favorite: The morning sickness was pretty icky, but really I can't complain too much--nothing's been terrible. I've had a million funny symptoms but all fairly mild.

Looking forward to: feeling MORE flutters... finding out how DH and I handle birth... and really looking pregnant (people still think I'm just extra-chunky unless I'm wearing a full-on empire waist shirt).

Not looking forward to: sleep getting more uncomfortable, which I just know it will... and really looking pregnant (since it means it'll be hard to bend over and keep my balance and all that fun stuff!)

I am 20 weeks today! Woohoo!

Favorite things - feeling kicks and rolls in my belly and starting to see it on the outside!

Least favorite - I am still much more emotional than usual. It has gotten better, but it still sneaks up on me at times and I find myself getting angry and/or crying about stupid things.
I still have about 1.5 weeks until the halfway point, but since I'm almost there I thought I'd post too. (You never know, the baby could come early and then I really would be halfway now LOL)

Favorite thing: My already nice big belly! I always love looking pregnant, it's when I feel the best about my body (pregnant or not).

Least Favorite: This darn stuffed nose. I've had it for 9 days. I can handle all types of pain and what ever, but a stuffed nose I just can't handle. I don't know why! It's getting better though *knocks on wood*, now if I can just fix the dry mouth I have today!

Looking forward to: Feeling this little one move more and more. Finding out what we're going to have (my instincts say girl, but who knows) when s/he's born.

Not looking forward to: There really isn't anything I'm not looking forward to. I love being pregnant! I can say that if I'm going to have a stuffed nose for the rest of my pregnancy I'm not looking forward to that! In fact, I might be deliverring this baby in the looney bin if that's the case LOL.

Halfway!!

Favorite thing: Definitely feeling the baby moving & kicking.

Least favorite thing: Much more prolonged morning sickness than previous pregnancy, and the fact that if I don't eat healthy I still will feel sick.

Looking forward to: Getting that lovely big belly as opposed to just looking heavy.

Not looking forward to: Swollen feet & inability to reach the sink to do dishes without killing my back.

Janna, I have to disagree with your initial post, though - for me, it feels like the first half of pregnancy takes forever and the second half speeds by.

I'm 20 weeks now too and so far

I haven't liked being so nauseous bu this has passed now thank goodness!

I have liked getting a nice round belly - and not hiding my outie belly button!

I'm looking forward to a good summer so I can wear loose comfortable clothes

I'm not looking forward to keeping the hordes away from the house once the babe is born.

Is anyone else being kept awake by a busy baby? This little pickle was bouncing around until about 2am last night which is good but also didn't let me sleep! We were supposed to leave early to visit my mum bit at 9am I couldn't move my head from the pillow I was so tired and we didn't get out til gone 11. I'm back at work next week after the Easter holiday and I'm going to feel awful if babe keeps this up.

Can I add another looking forward to? Breastfeeding during the night and falling straight back to sleep after. Love those sleepy hormones

I am not being kept awake by the busy baby in my belly, but I am being kept awake by a busy toddler who is teething and has a cold right now. Yuk! After being up half the night, she was sleeping so good this morning that we just slept in 2 hours and I went to work late. We both needed the sleep! Hopefully tonight will be better!

I am so looking forward to my 12 week maternity leave and breastfeeding again!!

I have 3 days to hit the 20th week so i qualify!!

Glad its over: morning sickness. didn't really have it with ds and didn't expect this time but it was a warning sign that i was pregnant after i found it i realized why i hadnt been feeling good!!

I was happy to only gain 7 lbs so far!!

looking foward to: everything!! everything seems sooo slow and yet it flies by...the pg belly. LOTS of movement that dh and my mom can feel. hearing the heartbeat at home...finding out if its a boy or girl (totally stupid as to what it is right now...no nickname so "it" is all we call it and i am ready to say s/he!!)

Little does DH know that we are halfway done. Seems like they hardly register that your pregnant until its almost over!!
:

U/s next week!! whoooo!!

I WISH it were that way for me! I'm really glad you enjoy being pregnant. I'm really, really trying to enjoy it, but I'm just one of those pregnant ladies that hates it.

Ha ha, now, I didn't say I LOVE being pregnant...it's more that I'm a great big whingy whiner during that neverending first trimester when I feel like crap and am exhausted and don't get any of attention that you get once you are obviously pregnant. Plus, now that this is #2, I know how brutally exhausting it is to have a newborn and not sleep for more than 2 consecutive hours for months on end (if my #2 is anything like my #1), so pregnancy is a comparative breeze!

Sorry pregnancy is the pits for you - there's no rule that says you have to enjoy it.
For me, at least with ds#1, I really really struggled with 0-5 months and pretty much hated parenting a newborn.
You can't love everything about parenting, right? At least I can't!

Back to your regularly scheduled thread...

Being pregnant with the first is so different in many ways isn't it! I hope she's feeling better and you too.

Thanks! She's feeling better so she not so clingy. I feel like I haven't really been "into" this preganacy as much as with my first, just b/c I have been so busy with DD. Now that I am showing more and feeling the baby move around in there I am starting to enjoy it more, but freaking out a little now that I am past the halfway mark. I have really done nothing to prepare!
