we just got back from the clinic a bit ago and they diagnosed my 2 year old's blistery bumps as hand foot and mouth. said he wasn't running a fever so it shouldn't be contagious (thank GOD! ds1 is cranky enough with the molar cutting as is) and said i just had to let it run its course. is there anything i can do for him in the mean time to help keep it from spreading? it's on his hands, in his mouth, all over his bottom and on his legs and feet.

My kids had this in their mouth and the Doc gave me an RX for a numbing gel to coat the throat. It helped tremendously. Other than that and maybe some Tylenol/Motrin there isn't much you can do. It lasted about a week for us.
