Until today, I have been using HHs just at night, so I never had to worry about how to tell if Christian was wet. But, I tried an HH during the day today and then I couldn't ever tell if he was wet without having to remove the insert to see. So, those who use pocket dipes during the day, how can you tell if the dipe is wet without having to remove the insert?

I used to use HH during the day. I never checked to see if ds was wet , I just changed him often like I would with fitteds. Sometimes they turned out to not be wet but by the time I figured that out I had already started the changing process so the unwet one just went into the diaper pail with the wet ones. I guess that wasn't much help was it. Well at least I am using cloth because I would be a big waster if I was using disposibles.

You can just sort of stick your fingers in the pocket and see if it feels damp. Or you could just change him every two hours. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Thanks. I guess I will just check it with my fingers. I was finding that I would change him after 2+ hours and he would still be dry, but then I wouldn't realize it until I had already changed him.
