Iused mt first HH yesterday and it wicked terribly by the leg holes. Anyone else have this problem and is it fixable?

My disposanot did the same thing this morning... a lot of wicking. It didnt the first time I used it last week... what happened?

And I was really starting to like the pocket diapers...

Are they brand new?? If so you need to wash and dry on HOT once or twice to "set the pul" (per Linda at HH). Give that a try. If they're new and they still wick, I'd send 'em back...

If they aren't new, and you've done a strip wash to rule out repelling fleece, and you are sure you are stuffing them enough, then go to Walmart and get some silicone waterproofing spray and spray them. Works like a charm!

HTH!

It's so weird, the only HH my DS is wearing now is a print outer and I've never had any problems with wicking. It's the moon&stars print.
I was wanting to try a disposanot(love the name!) but DS doesn't do well with PUL!

Hi Lo!

BTW, nikwax works great, I used it on all of my non pul pockets/aio's at the legs and my dd is a super soaker. i would guess repelling too since it is BOTH dipes and the disposanot did ok at first.

we use solid and print hh's all the time with no issues.

I would definitely check what you're stuffin' with
I blamed this one pocket I had, and turns out, it was not the pocket, it was what it was getting stuffed with. Also, make sure your hemp is washed enough times to absorb. I loooooooooooove our Disposanots, but I stick to solid PUL everytime, and leave the prints for every now and then. Although, I gotta say, that my pul print from Aherne held up forever!!

I have ALL HH's right now and had this same problem when I first got them. Turns out the stuffing I was using wasn't working well. I first tried JB's but those (and yes they were fully broken in) would only get wet in the middle but not wick the moisture throughout. So they only lasted one pee. I then tried flat dipes and until I started folding them right so there was more padding, they also leaked a bit.

What finally is working for us is stuffing with unbleached infant prefolds. I also made a few of my own stuffers by taking old premium prefolds, cutting them to half their length, and then zigzagging the edges to prevent unravelling. When folded, all the padding is in the middle of the dipe where a girl would wet.

I have found that the prints wick more than the solids, but if the stuffing is adequate they should not wick at all. I haven't had any problems with wicking since using the right stuffing.

We have never had a problem either and we just stuff w/pf's and reg old terry doublers, but I hear this all the time! And I have a major pee baby. It's so funny how every product works so differently for every baby.

Most of my stash is HH and I've never had a problem with them leaking. Well, we did have one problem, but that was a repelling fleece issue because MIL (bless her heart) was "helping" with the laundry and washed all my dipes with downy - not DA, but regular downy
: Once I stripped them though, everything was fine.

I have done a strip wash on the diapers and no effect. Neither were brand new so no returning them. I was stuffing them with cotton prefolds and even tried another insert to see if that was it. No luck. I have since decided that pocket diapers are not for us... even though I like the concept. I adore my cuddlebuns and crickets.... So one adorable HH and one plain disposanot up for grabs. (Trade) Both in EC.
