Happy Mommy's Day Everyone

You ladies have been such an amazing source of strength for me.

Forget the housework and the stress- just relax and give your babies a big hug and kiss and snuggle with them all day long!

Thanks... I'm feeling sorry for myself this morning cause my son is sick with a cold and I started getting sick last night... went to bed with a sore throat and headache, and when I woke up this morning it was worse... Mother's Day is probably my LEAST favorite day of the year... I always miss my mom (she died when I was 22 in 1998) on this day, and being a single mom there's not a whole lot of recognition for what I do (although my BF did sort of buy me a gift... a volleyball for our camping trip next weekend... which I love... but not exactly a "Mother's Day" gift)... sigh...

Organique Gal

I've set out this Mother's Day to acknowledge and recognize myself as a mother. You're right, Organique Gal, as a single mom, when the kids are young, we really don't get a lot of recognition from them or others....but we can see it in ourselves. But when we acknowledge ourselves, that is a true gift.

I challenge every one today to write down 5 things that make you a fabulous mom. Recognize the wonderful things you do for your kids. Pat yourselves on the back because you are all amazing and doing the best job you can...and as a single mom, sometimes that's not easy.

Me: 1. I love my children with all my heart and soul.
2. I do my best to be responsive to my children's needs.
3. I love to just *be* with my kids.
4. I am a model of love, strength and courage.
5. I treat my children and myself with respect.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY....EVERYONE!!!!!

1) I have been a constant for my children during the last 6 months of chaos.
2) I am a parent even though some days I don't "feel like it."
3) Though I've been under a great deal of stress, I've become a better mother in the past year.
4) I am modeling responsibility, compassion, and strength for my children.
5) I've been unwilling to compromise my AP standards just because I'm doing this alone now.

Happy Mother's Day to us all!

1) I am a good mother. I may not be as good as others sometimes and there are days when my very best isn't very good at all, but I am still a good mother.
2) I am the epitome of strength. Seriously, there has been so much sh*t that has hit the fan throughout the past two years and somehow I have managed to make it through with my sanity still intact. That says a lot.
3) I am willing to grow and change. I am willing to learn new things that help me be a better mother every day.
4) I love my children, more than life itself.
5) I am learning to love me too, and I think that is one of the best gifts I can give to my kids.

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!

Great idea!

1. I have been a constant in my kids' lives.

2. Their best interest is the forefront of all the life changing decisions I make: job, relationships...

3. I love and respect my children as the indviduals they are.

4. I have built a life and home where everyone is cherished.

5. I support the relationship that they have with their father. I do this even when he is bullying me and it's the last thing I want to do.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!!!!

Thanks for this thread. It has definitely been a strange mother's day.

I could just copy and paste others' responses, because they seem to fit, but I'll do a separate one...

1) I keep my children safe, no matter how much courage it takes, and lately I had no idea I had this much courage and tenacity in me!
2) I treat my children as individuals, really celebrating their individual styles.
3) I bring as much compassion and respect to them as I can on each day (and some days are definitely better than others), knowing that our relationship is very important.
4) I show them that I am human, that I make mistakes, clean them up, forgive myself and move on.
5) I share much joy with them, each day feels like a gift, even these days that are so stressful in many ways.

Bless you, mamas!
