Hi all, I've been a co-sleeper with my two youngest, but with a new baby due in a few months, I've been thinking of those times when baby has been nursed to sleep, mom's not ready to go to bed yet, but then you put the sleeping baby down and immediately have a wakey baby again!

So, I happened upon this website:
http://www.ambybaby.com/Products/InfantPackage.asp

It seems like it would be great to use for naps and other times when I'll be up but baby needs to be sleeping.

Yep, I have two of them (twins!) and they haven't been used for more than about 1/2 hour each. My plan was to have them use them for naps and early bedtime when they became too big to sling at naptime. Here I sit with both of them on me napping at almost 6 months old
I think that I would have had to start putting them down in the Amby's from birth whenever they were sleeping and then *maybe* they would have used them for naps. I still think it's a very cool idea and would probably work for mamas who don't/can't sling their babes for naps, etc. For us, though, we now just can't wait to get rid of them!

For us, I think they didn't work because we didn't really need them and didn't really try to put the girls in them all that often. I still think they're very cool and think they would work great for families in which babies actually get put down to sleep

I thought the amby-bed was cool, but I have never needed to buy it because ds has always been a great co-sleeper. although it would be great for naps, I try to hold him for all his naps, but sometimes I would like to put him down for five minutes, and since we're not comfortable putting him in a crib (and haven't put the crib up at all for the same reason) I put him on our bed, just making sure he is secure and won't fall. I don't really worry at this point, because he doesn't crawl yet, it's trickier when they get a bit older.

but I tried the amby-bed, thought it was pretty cool, especially for babies with reflux and such since they are more in a sitting-up position.
