Hi, I'm new here. In fact, today is the first time I've entered this forum and I'm not sure I can even work myself up to reading other posts yet.

My traumatic birth was more than 3 years ago and I've yet to face it to work through it. I suffered a uterine rupture after 60 hours of labor but fortunately my son survived. I've gone on to have another child also. I still feel the effects daily of the PTSD and, according to those who love me, have not been the same since Jesse's birth.

The LLL is having a conference here on the 25th. This is one of the sessions:
307 Birth Recovery: Working Through Feelings After a Negative Birth Experience
A negative birth experience can be devastating. Even when things work out okay in the end, when a birth does not go as planned, mothers are left with complicated feelings of grief, sadness, guilt, anger, and helplessness. Join us for a discussion on healing our birth trauma. Ariel Hulvey

I wonder if anyone has attended something like this and how they feel about having done it. I have not seen anyone regarding my birth outside of my midwives (who encourage but don't push outside help) and supportive friends. I know that I need to. I just haven't.
