Has anyone else had a LEEP?

Same here. LEEP about 7 years before I got pregnant the first time. No issues whatsoever. I've always had normal paps since the LEEP. This pregnancy, my cervix also seems to be doing its job.

I had LEEP about 4 years ago and am pregnant for the first time. My dr said it may be an issue (the incompetent cervix!) so I am getting my cervix measured in a couple weeks when I go in for nuchal translucency sonogram. I am also concerned about this, esp as I was told at the time that my cervix would grow back and be as good as new!

I had a LEEP about 3 years ago and I'm now also pregnant for the first time. I haven't had any problems with my cervix.

I had one done and got pregnant with my first right as I had my 3 month follow up appointment. No problems at all. Now in my second pregnancy and have not had any issues and do not forsee them either.

When my OB told me i needed one right as we had tried to TTC our first I cried I was so upset. The thought of having to postpone a baby was hearbreaking to me as I had waited a long time to even start thinking of babies. He spent a lot of time calming my fears and told me there was no indication that a LEEP would hinder or make future pregnancies difficult. The layer they remove is so thin unless you would have had problems otherwise it should not cause it.

I also had Leep surgery about five-six years ago... I am 18 weeks pregnant, and so far no problems! Thank god! I agree with the other ladies-If you had a good first pregnancy, I think this one would be perfect too!!

My midwives were also not at all worried about my previous LEEP. they didn't even mention that it could be a problem. i am 32 weeks into my second pregnancy and haven't had problems with either. I have many friends who have had LEEPs and none have had problems with their cervix during pregnancy or birth.

I had a LEEP 9 years before I got pregnant with DD. I did end up going into labor at 32 weeks, and held it off with bedrest and meds until 36 weeks. But it could have happened for any number of reasons. My ob now doesn't think it is THE reason I had ptl, but it could have contributed. From what I understand during the LEEP they just remove the fatty outer layer. So it wouldn't affect the inner part right?

I had a LEEP 9 or so years ago. My 3 year old was born at 34 weeks following pprom. My midwife at the time said that the LEEP had nothing to do with it. My current OB said that he can't say that for sure and that current research says that preterm births happen more frequently following LEEP than previously thought. I will just have extra cervical length monitoring to be sure. No big deal and may buy me a little bit of peace.
