Has anyone ever...

Has anyone ever used the stuff that is supposed to take out pet odor smells on diapers - it is sold in pet stores and used to clean up cat pee, etc. It has some kind of enzyme in it that is supposed to neutralize urine, etc.?

I tried it yesterday in a load of laundry on some hemp and fleece that's been smelling a little icky, and so far so good! Just curious if anyone else had tried it?

I get "Totally Toddler" from BRU and occasionally use it on the diapers (it says it's safe on cloth diapers). It has made a HUGE difference when the diapers are really "ripe" and smell like ammonia. I usually wash w/ it and then w/ detergent and then add some rinses.
I just got some myself a few days back and so far it is working great.
i use plain old white vinegar when my dipes need a boost. works great, so i haen't had to try anything else.
I usually use vinegar I never thought about that stuff. Hmmm.
I thought enzymes were a no-no with cloth diapers? Something about how it can cause a bad rash when the baby wets again and re-activates the enzymes? Has anyone else heard that?

I know that has been an issue with detergent that has enzymes, not sure if the enzymes in the pet odor removal products are the same, but it'd be a good idea to keep an eye out for any redness and make sure to rinse very well.
I've never used that but I have used Febreeze laundry de-stinker that you use like fabric softener. It's strongly scented so I wonder if it just covers up the odor or if it really does remove it. I find a prewash with either baking soda or vinegar and a second rinse seems to work just as well with no unknown chemicals though. I haven't tried the enzyme cleaners like Bac-out and such though. Let us know what you learn!
I use something like that - Bac-Out - on poopy dipes. The way it works is that the enzymes break down the poop and prevent it from permanently staining the dipes. It also keeps them from becoming stinky (like even after being washed). I spray a solution of Bac-Out mixed with water on poopy dipes before putting them in our dry pail, and I also put a little Bac-Out in with the dipes for the cold soak. It works great! No rash issues either.
Yes, I just tried it too. I have jugs on hand because I have a puppy......
I put a glob of it in my initial prewash and it worked great.
