Has anyone handwashed prefolds -

I am just wondering how doable it would be on vacation. I know I can buy flats, but am just trying to save some money.

I did when we went camping, and it was OK. I much, much prefered my flats though, because it was easier to rinse, and also faster to dry (and they weren't as crunchy after being line dried)

I have handwashed both flats and prefolds and flats are soooo much easier IMO.

Can you use receiving blankets?? They work great as flats and I would think they would be so much easier to wash than prefolds....also, if you dont have any, you can always pick some up from the thrift store for like a quarter a piece....
