New here, so I'm still just getting a feel for the board.

I had an emergency c/s with #1 almost a year ago and am now 13 weeks pregnant with twins. I have found a doctor I like who is supportive of the idea, but it's so nice to hear success stories from women who've been in this boat.

Very curious - do most doctors require both babies to be vertex at birth or just baby A?

(We have to have help getting pregnant, so I've been with my reproductive specialist up until now and haven't had a chance to ask my OB.)

TIA!

hugs mama and welcome to mdc! I hope you enjoy the community!

I had a vbac a few months ago and have never had twins, but a woman in my birth group VBAC'd twins and another mama a year or two ago (same birth group) did too. You can find her picture/story on the birth group website at http://www.ithacabirthgroup.org/ (the gallery section)

Our local hospital is very vbac friendly and I believe they don't have a policy about twin orientation but yes, many care providers will push for baby a to be head down. Baby b doesn't have to be though. And other care providers will deliver breech twins so ask around!

congrats and happy birthing!

Hi. Welcome to MDC. My situation is the opposite of yours -- C-section with my twins and hoping for a VBAC with this singleton. Anyway, wanted to let you know in case you haven't found it that there is a Parenitng Multiples section under the Parenting header. You may want to ask there if any of the mamas VBAC-ed twins. Although it's under parenting a lot of women who are PG with twins post there, too.

My twins are from fertility help, too. Infertility sucks -- glad you found resolution.

A woman I know has five kids from three pregnancies... twins, singleton, twins. The first delivery was a c/s, but she VBACed for the other two. It was a different story of course since her first VBAC was a singleton... but anyway. ;-)
