My doctor recently put me back on the pill because I wasn't ovulating (not for 8 months!) to jump start my body. We are doing the pill for one more cycle to see if it worked, and then either going natural, or if necessary using Clomid, but mid-September we are off the pill and officially BDing (although they say to wait at least a cycle after the pill to let the uterine wall build up) so maybe just practice BDing. My question is: does charting work accurately while on the pill? I want to become familiar with my cycle so I know at least a little what to look for next month. Also, did anyone get a BFP right off the pill and have a successful pregnancy? I REALLY don't want a summer baby cuz I dont think I could handle the Texas summers while pregnant, so if we conceive in Sept, we're looking at mid-may. Anywho, I appreciate all thoughts and advice on this! Thanks!!

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking here. Why are you going on the pill? To see if what worked? The pill prevents you from ovulating, and so I'm not sure why you would chart if you are not trying to monitor ovulation? Maybe I'm confused. Are you talking about the b/c pill?

Sorry...I went off the pill in Oct 2005 and did not have a period after that...at all! So My doc put me back on the pill to try to jump start my body....not all pills prevent ovulation though. This is a very low dose pill and is designed to prevent implantation by thinning the wall (which I do NOT agree with and therefore have not had sex in an effort to avoid a pill induced abortion). But I think you sorta answered my question. We would have been trying MUCH sooner, but my cycle didn't allow it. Anywho, I guess I'll wait to chart til next month when I'm off the pill again. Thanks.

Interesting...I did not know this

So, if this is the case, and you are ovulating, you can probably go ahead and chart. Monitoring your cm, and taking your [BBT] (I don't do this, but there are many knowledgeable women here who do) will likely be accurate if the pill only prevents implantation.

Anyway, best of luck to you!
