I just found out today that my insurance will be covering 100% of my homebirth!!!! (Ok I do have a 20 copay but that's nothing!) I thought it was likely it would all go through but actually seeing it in writing is a whole different story. I wish more insurance companies could be this openminded. It was so simple...I filed my gap exception two weeks ago and got the letter in the mail today.

It's UHC on a union plan. It's pretty generous but I still expected a little more friction in getting this pushed through. I actually didn't mention homebirth until the rep asked me point blank if my request was for homebirth care and she didn't make it sound weird or anything. Just ok, let me see what I can do for you.
