Just curious after several people have mentioned this. If you answer yes and you wouldn't mind elaborating, I'd love to hear your ideas/details.

Yes, for myself. The college I attended required your records and my drs office completed them, but I wasn't up to date on all of them, so I wrote in the nurses handwriting and same pen and made myself up to date. SHHHH!! Don't tell on me

I did this many years ago for my daughter, but all the rules and systems have changed so much that the details would be useless for someone trying to do it now.

The record keeping is harder to mess with nowadays, I think.

I voted yes, but I actually didn't do it personally, a NP did it for me! DD was born in HK and was vaxed on the HK schedule. When we moved to the US and were applying for resident alien status, I didn't have her vaccination records from Hong Kong, they had got lost in the move. By that time, I was totally against vaccination and didn't want her re-vaccinated, so I told the nurse what she had had and roughly when she had had them, and she filled in a new card for her. DH swears he dropped her some money, but I never saw any change hands.

I full on made up a whole dang shot record so I could do my clinicals for nursing school. But us admitting this right here is part of why adults will have a vaccine registry soon. Won't be so easy then.

I did. In a country that (at the time) had zero legal options to avoid vaccination.

Which country was that?

yes, but many years ago before the advent of statewide immunization registries...these still aren't working completely up to par - but it makes things a lot riskier.

I've seen you write this exact post at least 20 times and all it does is make me depressed. I have desperately wanted to move to Canada for years and DH refuses. But I wish I didn't have to be constantly reminded of how I'm stuck in a country with laws/regulations/social policies inferior to the one I really want to live in :

hey knower of nada...sorry to make you feel so awful...

just tryin to kick some people in the pants and wake up the masses to what's going on around them! Glad you're onboard, but you have to do what keeps your kids and your marriage all together. OK? Maybe in a couple of years, things will work out.

In the meantime, you can do some international job searches, network, travel, whatever you think will move you just a little bit toward that goal.

And for the record, I have written about Country Shopping a total of 4 times....but to someone torn/consumed with the issue I can see how it might seem like more!

Thanks...and sorry I was grumpy to you. I publicly apologize. I'm happy that you are happy where you are. Have you relinquished your American citizenship?

I did in France because there was no exemption option. I just wrote in the dates next to each vaccine on the records and gave a copy of that to the school.

Interesting. So it's not the end of the world if we ever do move to WV. :

No - I probably would but DH wouldn't let me I'm sure. I did write on one thing "delayed schedule" when I said his vax wasn't up to date. They don't need to know they're delayed forever

Nope...but I have made one *disappear*

My husband has heard me say "nope, she's never had any shots" so many times I think he is beginning to believe it himself. After all, he never went to any of her well baby visits and never saw her get any shots. Hmmmmm...what is reality?

(also jealous of those who have gotten out of this country. my dd's medical condition may force us to have an extended visit to France if no US doc can help...maybe that stay will be extended...and then moved to Holland)

No. The idea of faking medical records is shocking to me. I'd rather fight the system upfront than do something dishonest. What would they do to someone caught faking medical records?
