I am hoping someone can help me out. I have been sick every 2 weeks, since the beginning of January. It lasts a few days then goes away.

My sypmtoms seem like the flu. Achiness, fatigue, congestions, sore throat, nausea, no appetite. You know, the knock you on your [email protected]@ symptoms.

Yet, I am concerned I have mono or strep throat since this is the third time it has happened. I just want to know what is going on with my body.

So is it possible to have the flu this often?

No fever? Without fever, I would suspect what you've been getting are Colds, not Influenza.

There are over 300 different cold viruses. You could either not be completely fighting off one--more or less never recovering, hence the recurrances, or catching a different virus each time.

If you're concerned about mono or strep, get thee to a doc for the tests and start effective treatment, though cold symptoms can hang on for a LONG time sometimes.

I am sorry, I forgot to include my favorite symptom, fever and chills.
That is always how I realize I am getting sick. I start thinking that it is awfully cold in my apartment, but its not. My fever only lasts about 2 days it topped out at 102, yesterday, now it is gone.

I am trying to avoid going to a doctor, because no insurance and I am afraid of how much those tests will cost.

I don't know what to suggest. You could be cycling through the same virus by not recovering completely--your body only suppressing it rather than fighting it all the way off. Or you might be catching different strains of Flu virus.

Vitamin C can help, lots of rest, lots of water, but you know all that already.
