I am 30 weeks pregnant and was planning another hospital VBAC, but recently have been considering a homebirth.
I would love to hear from moms who have btdt successfully. I had a cesarean and then 2 full term VBACs with one 20 week stillbirth.
Have any of you felt the need to continue care under an OB, so you don't burn your bridges?
I have had 1 hospital VBAC & one HBAC.

I LOVED my HBAC. I felt SOO much more empowered and relaxed. It was awesome.

I am planning my 2nd HBAC for March/April. I am SOO excited.

I have midwife care so no OB's involved.

You already know most of my story. I did have shadow care because technically HBAC is not permitted in my state. I needed the labs and to do that I needed to see a doctor at some point. So I did shadow care. I had the option of dropping the shadow care toward the end or just continuing as normal. I decided to continue until the last couple of weeks. I was overdue, so I just went AWOL at the OB's office. They didn't call me to check on me until I was 20 days past my EDD. The baby was born at home four days before they called. I told them my little "story" about going out of town unexpectedly and giving birth away from home. It was the office manager and he said "OK, I'll update your chart." They billed my insurance and the baby will be six months old tomorrow and I've not heard from any of the doctors at all.

I just had a successful HBAC a few weeks ago! I wouldn't change a THING! It was WONDERFUL - It was surreal being in MY house with MY clothes, food, toilet, shower, shampoo, herbal bath, sheets, family, etc. It was AWESOME not being poked and prodded all the time after the birth, not having my newborn taken from me to be bathed every day (insert huge eyeroll here... the hospital around here is ridiculous about this!), not having to fight with anyone about not giving formula or sugar water to my baby, etc.

I had a pretty traumatic C-Section and recorvery with DD and did NOT want to repeat that!

I left my OB at 20 weeks pregnant with DD, so I don't really have much experience with keeping up with the doc hehe I wouldn't go to another OB willingly with any of my pregnancies unless it truly was neccesary, but that's mainly because of my bad experiences with them!
