<p>My pcp "fired" me when she found out I  wanted another homebirth. I'm t2 diabetic and require meds to control my bG.  She knew dd#2 was a fantastic homebirth and I was kind of counting on her for my bG meds while I figured out prenatal care for this pregnancy.  </p>

<p>I fired my 1st ob because he clearly didn't trust me and the feeling was mutual.</p>

<p>OB#2 just "released me from care" because I didn't want to sign their financial agreement.  Apparently I have completely misunderstood my maternity coverage and this pregnancy/delivery is going to cost us in the thousands of dollars (that's our portion, after insurance).  We don't have that.</p>

<p>I'm freaking out just a little bit today and have spent the last 2-1/2 hours crying my eyes out, in between trying to convince the insurance company that MY interpretation of their plan description is correct.  Yeah, I'm sure I'll out-argue the BCBS folks.</p>

<p>I so wanted this pregnancy to be peaceful and happy.  Not to be, it seems.</p>

<p>Eek! That is very scary and stressful at a time when you really don't need that! I hope you are able to sort things out with BCBS and find another care provider soon! *cross fingers*</p>

<p>Wow that is frustrating. Keep talking with your insurance provider about the plan. Talk to many different people there. I've known 3 people just in the last few months who have had their insurance companies pull things like this on them. Two of them were having the same surgery, a spinal implant, and their providers said they would pay for the surgery but not the equipment?? All three people were able to get it resolved in their favor. I think sometimes they count on you not pursuing it. When you don't give in, they may concede.</p>

<p>As for your pcp, I hope and think that if you keep an open mind you'll find the person who's right for you, even if it may not seem like what you want at first. I have faith in those kinds of important experiences working themselves out if we don't try to force them too much! (not to get, like, gooshy  about it or anything. )</p>

<p>Thanks y'all.  I've calmed down considerably since yesterday and I know we'll figure something out.  My insurance coverage changes on January 1.  I'll be 18-1/2 weeks at that point ... maybe I'll be able to find someone to take me at that point?  Heck, I totally forgot ... I was past 20 weeks when I signed on with the ob/mw I used for dd#2.  Something will work out.  <span><img alt="wild.gif" src="http://files.mothering.com/images/smilies/wild.gif" style="width:25px;height:24px;"></span></p>
