It doesn't make sense.

There is a gal at church a few days older than Tracy and they talk about how much she drinks and how often she needs a new diaper. She drinks as much as Tracy but needs her diaper changed every 2 hours because they are soaked through! Tracy could (in theory) go all day with the same diaper and barely be wet!

Is it that he uses his fluids? He is much much much more active than this girl. She can't even climb onto their couch at 18 months and is 4 inches taller than ds, who can climb on top of everything in my house (including the bookshelf!)

It might also depend on the brand of diapers. I know with cloth diaper (esp prefolds) they do need changing every two hours or so. Disposables don't need to be changed as often, but I find that cheaper brands of disposables need to be changed more often than the more expensive ones - like Huggies Supreme.

Also some people lose more fluid through sweat than others. I barely ever sweat - even when it's really, really hot out so I'm drinking water and using the bathroom all the time. My dh sweats a LOT and doesn't need to go as often - in the summer heat - he seems to lose much of his fluid through sweat.

Some people also have more bladder capacity and go longer between urinating. My ds Michael would be dry for hours - but then just soak a diaper all at once where the girls both peed little amounts every couple hours (but still insisted on being changed after every time).
