sorry if this has already been asked! I looked back a bit but couldn't fit anything about it.

We recently bought a HE machine and I LOVE it for everything... except diaper washing... I'm having trouble knowing how much detergent to use, although I am starting to get the hang of it. Problem is, now I need to strip my diapers (repelling a bit and they stink but I don't know how to do this, especially with a HE machine.

Does anyone have experience with this?

: for any other tips but what I have done is wash 1x and then keep washing on hot until I see no bubbles. My machine heats it's own water, so the hot is pretty hot (95C). I think I am going to have to get my prefolds down and wash them clean in the next couple of weeks, I don't need to start diapering #4 with repelling!

We run ours hot wash with no soap 4 -6 times. But since I've gotten better about not using too much soap (about 1/2 scoop charlies powdered), I don't have to strip very often at all.
I started using Calgon and it made a world of difference. I wasn't having any difficulty with my diapers, but my covers were stinky. A quarter capful of Calgon added to my detergent has totally cleared the stink up.

Ditto what milkmommie and tjsmama said--lots of washes with no soap on hot, hot, hot, and Calgon is a total lifesaver.

Thanks for the advice! I ran them quite a few times on a hot cycle and it seems to have worked! I'll have to pick up some Calgon

I just found some Calgon in my local grocery store last week, and I LOVE it!!! It has finally made my diapers not stink. I have tried washing in hot for many, many washes, I have tried Dawn, I even finally bought some Tide Free. I was actually considering boiling my dipes two or three at a time on the stove even. Nothing was getting the stink out. I bought Calgon, added a quarter cap full, and Voila! The stink is gone!!
