I am so mad! We follow a delayed-selective vax schedule for our kids, and today we went in for dd's 6 month shots.

As I was reviewing her shot record from 2 months ago, I noticed that she received a Hep B and Polio vax. I looked at my husband, and said "is this right? We didn't vax her for those." Then the lady working the front counter said - those are in the DtaP vax, so I'm sure she just got those with the DtaP.

OMG - we are so mad! and I feel stupid that I didn't notice it when we were there in April. She had 3 shots then, so we didn't question it until I saw the shot record.

So, now what do we do??? Does anyone have opinions on using the pediatrix 1 time only? The health dept played it off like it was no big deal at all. They said that the series would never be re-started and that I didn't have to continue the polio or hep B series until I decide to, but I'm still concerned...

Any thoughts, ideas or help?

TIA - Jana

I'm actually surprised that a health dept is saying they're willing to vax selectively. But no, you wouldn't have to re-start anything. It's considered to be equivalent to administering separate vaccines.
