I have constant heart burn and it doesnt seem to be affected by my diet. But it is sure affecting it it makes it so I am not even hungry. But i dont wanna pop tums do you have any natural relievers??
i would love the answer to this one as well, as I have been a constant sufferer of the deep fire in my gut for months now!!!!

i've heard papaya enzyme? I've not tried it though to be honest, I pop the tums and even have swallowed the maalox. i'll do whatever it takes (within reason of course) to be rid of this mortal enemy.
OH YES!!! sometimes it burns my throat and tummy so bad, I swear I will throw up right then and there! it's bad.....like FIRE! but i've had mine for months that way and everyone keeps laughing and saying that she'll have tons of hair. who knows, but this is definitely something I did NOT battle with my first two.

good luck to you....i'd definitely be getting some cherry maalox (the stuff works and it's ok for us preggers)
Sorry to butt into your DDC...but I saw the heartburn word and had to respond!! The HB I had with DD was EVIL!!!! I was popping tums like they were candy. It got to the point where I was threatening my bump with torture at birth if she didn't have a full head of hair. (old wives tale that heartburn means lots of hair - she was born with a really spiky punk rock doo BTW) my chiro warned me off of them because of the aluminum and other junk in them and recommended Papaya Enzymes...They actually work pretty well, you just have to take them on a schedule and not just when you are uncomfortable.

Hope you feel better soon!
Drugstore.com has them

http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...30&catid=16989

They are really cheap...get a few bottles!
There are antacids that don't have aluminum. Just read the bottle. I sneak a Zantac if it is really bad. :
I Have had huge success with acupuncture to aleviate a lot of the digestive issues I have in pregnancy from burping, terrible food adversions and heartburn.

I am currently going through some tough heartburn/reflux stuff and am considering Zantac. My midwife ok'd it but then I read that in animal studies it does cross the placenta but had not caused any trouble. I am skeptical about it. I bought some but have not taken it yet.

The papaya enzymes DO work! I understand you can swallow them whole and not chew them if you like. I took so many of them with my last pregnancy that the mere thought of them makes me want to gag so I've avoided them this time. I have taken the occasional cocoa smoothie Tums and found them tolerable.
