I had spotting (brown to tan) last week, so yesterday I went for a viability scan at an imaging center. I haven't heard from my dr yet, but I saw a little blob and a flickering heartbeat at 128! I've had both a mmc (with d&c, ectopic scare and treatment) and an early mc, so this is a little ray of hope. :heartbeat

I have short cycles and knew when I o'd. So I am measuring a few days ahead based on the standard lmp edd, but perfect based on my o date. Baby was 6w4d.

Now I have to hang in there until my first official appointment on the 27th. It's so terrifying for me... pretty much up until I feel baby kicking regularly.

Any others higher risk with early scans?

Yay! That's great! I don't have my first appointment with the midwife until November 9. I feel ok, plenty of pregnancy symptoms, but I feel anxious to get a confirmation ultrasound or something...

For my first, we had to go though and IUI process, so we were being monitored from the very early days. So different this time around!

It is amazing though, how as soon as we see the positive test, there are a million things to worry about. Fingers crossed that we all stay healthy and that these babies keep growing strong!

Just had my first "official" appointment. After 2 mc's and heavy bleeding early on in my one term pg, it was a bit odd having such a normal visit. It was mainly filling out paperwork with a nurse, lots of blood draws and a full internal exam and pap. But they like to take a 1 minute peek with their office ultrasound, so we saw our little tree frog (says DH, heh) and she pointed out the flicker of the heart. They don't measure the heartbeat then, but did measure the crl. (Don't mind the dates - she didn't bother to set them.)

Beautiful!

Mine is an IVF pregnancy, so we will also have an early ultrasound.

We've had some troubling bloodwork: my first pregnancy test came back with low levels of HCG, and the second one two days later should have doubled, but didn't. Our third test was back on track, so we've been in wait-and-see mode. (Before the third test, my nurse actually told me I was miscarrying, but then things started to look up.)

I have ultrasound tomorrow (6w2d), and I'm really hoping that we get good news and can see a heartbeat.

Hmmm...I wrote a response but it never showed.

Anyway, fingers crossed for JuneBug...I hope everything went well.

Congratulations punquin!!! I'm right with you as well...just heard the heartbeat yesterday and saw the little bugger with it's little paddles for arms and legs. After 6 miscarriages in a row (in less than 11 months) it was very odd to have such a "normal" visit. I was told yesterday that I have officially graduated from the Infertility Specialist and am free to get my hopes up. Finally, I can breathe!

Hope everyone else is doing good!

What a joy to see! I'm so sorry for all your losses. Hoping we continue to have "normal" visits! How am I supposed to wait 4 weeks though??

I wish they wouldn't say such ominous things when something looks off. It does't help any pg women who needs to keep stress low!

I'm thinking of you! Please update us...

We have a heartbeat!

I was such a wreck going into the clinic this morning, sure that the nurse was right (why would you tell someone she was losing a pregnancy if you weren't sure?). But we have a heartbeat! Lots of happy tears shed on that exam table this morning!

And with that, I am delighted to be moving on to midwifery care at 8 weeks, when I will say goodbye to all of this unnecessary fear-based testing.

I'm so, so glad for you! I was stalking this thread to hear your news. :heartbeat

Hey, just joined up cause found out I was pregnant for the first time on Sunday 10/25, went to clinic got confirmation Monday! EDD is 6/30/2015, but im considered high risk for numerous factors-one I am 31, two I have had an ectopic pregnancy in 03, three I had an abortion in 2006 (trust me i regret it but it was the right decision as alcohol had been a large factor and the father was an alcoholic who i had to flee from in 2012) and four Ive had two LEEP procedures where they scraped my cervix due to having precancerous cells.
So with all that, you can imagine im quite eager to see my lil bellybean as well. I go on Nov 9th (two days before my own 32nd birthday!) for my first appt and Ultrasound! Least i got it confirmed at the clinic and have my insurance all squared away-just gotta wait a week and a half now! So far it seems super unreal, this is my first and idont really have many symptoms yet cept increased sense of smell... not that im wishing for dire nausea at ALL just saying it doesnt make it seem legitimate yet lol! Glad to be here ladies!!

Congrats on your pregnancy, and welcome to the club! I wouldn't be too concerned about some of your "high risk" factors. 31 is still pretty young, (you don't even need any of the extra tests I need being over 35) and, according to the latest non-biased research, there do not appear to be any convincing studies that would indicate that surgical abortions have any significant link to increased miscarriage rate -- at least for the first abortion. There seems to be no evidence at all that emergency contraception or non-surgical abortions increase the chances of later miscarriages.
So, at least you don't need to worry about those factors!
