WARNING---negative rant follows----

O.K....I know I shouldn't bitch too much as women have suffered a great deal in pregnancy for centuries before me, but wow...I've had a day, let me tell you.

I've been a little gaggy since about six weeks and have managed to throw up only once when I drank cold water on an empty tummy. The nausea is awful, but I'm able to manage it pretty well. Except...I woke up at exactly six this morning, sat up, ran to the bathroom and heaved up the contents of my empty stomach. I wasn't hungry or anything...just sudden extreme nausea. There was a repeat performance an hour later, but this time DS was awake and crying in the other room for his morning boob.

I pulled it together, watched Turner Classics and decided to go get some coffee. I made it to my mom's house and then collapsed on her couch. Lightheaded, tunnel vision...I felt like I'd been on a fair ground ride.

My father takes this occasion to have a giant tantrum about a recent visit to my SIL house and accuses me of taking her side in an argument and turning my back on my brother. Insert drama here. My mom then tells me my brother is worried that my son is a 'little shit'. Insert further drama here. I try to work things out and clear the air but decide to drive home instead.

Arrive home and am greeted by the lovely scottish lady next door in her house dress. She swings the door of her condo open just as I stumble up the steps and all I can smell is stale cigarettes. I try to get away as politely as i can. I drop my son in front of DH and proceed to vomit yet again.

Nap-try to take DH to a park-vomit-try to eat-gag-smell garlic on sons' breath-gag- nap again...

Anyway, the gist of my rant is that I've had morning sickness before with Holden, but never like this. Never all day long and never so severe. I just wanted to share my sad tale with the rest of you. I know we're all struggling through this first trimester as best we can and honestly, knowing we have this board to come to is quite a comfort.

I never want to see stoned wheat thins, plain chips and gatorade again...

That sounds awful. Your parents pick a heck of a time to pick at you, seriously.

You know, it's good to rant sometimes. Beats simmering silently until you explode at someone, right?

And also, I'm going to use you to feel better about my own mildish nausea I hope that's okay.

Very poor timing on your parents' part I'm sorry today was so awful for you. Hopefully just a few more weeks and we're in the clear from these icko tummies.
