I finally got around to getting on here! I am a SAHM of two beautiful children. My first born is Caleb, age 5, who was born at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center when I and my husband were both active duty Army serving in MD. My second is Savanna Zoe, age 2, who was born after we both left the service at The Farm in Summertown, TN. I had no childbirth education outside of the hospital class with my first and regretted as soon as I went into labor and realized I was not prepared, so when I found out I was pregnant the second time I took Bradley Method® classes and consequently had a wonderful birth experience with my daughter!

I was so inspired by the process that I became a natural birth fanatic and completed everything I needed to do to become a Bradley Method® educator and Bradley® birth doula myself. Now I am also planning on attending training with DONA this spring and becoming a DONA certified doula as well as attending a lactation counselor training to become a certified lactation counselor this spring.

On top of all that, I home school my son, who is incredibly smart (not to be a proud mother or anything ) and is already working on first grade curriculum even though he just turned 5 this month and wouldn't even normally be in Kindergarten yet. I plan on starting a preschool curriculum with my daughter in Fall of 2011. I also plan to hit the books and go back to school myself in Fall of 2011 or Spring of 2012 to change my almost completed Major in Middle Eastern Studies to a Major in Nutrition! So this next year proves to be a bit crazy, but hopefully with the support of a great family, great friends, a great God, and a great church, I will make it through!

My husband is also a busy man who somehow manages to fit in lots of family time and never fails to make us his priority! He just completed his Masters in counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University and is working toward licensure. He works at our church as a staff missionary to the compassionate ministries department of the church and is a vital component of that organization.

Now that you all know a little about me and my family to look forward to getting to know more about you all!
