Hello, everyone!
I've been reading a lot of your posts in here w/ interest for a while before I decided to actually become a member! I'm 19 weeks pregnant w/ my first baby
: (I don't know the gender yet), and just recently moved back to my home in Ohio w/ my husband, an Army recruiter, after having lived in NC for a year. It's great to be back home and in touch w/ other moms interested in natural parenting issues.
It will be nice to get to know more of you and what you stand for!

Hi to a fellow Ohioan! And congratulations on your ne baby!

Where in Ohio do you live? Central Ohio has a great API group (that meets in "real life" and also has an online forum).

To change your profile, go to the top of the screen and click User CP...there is an option there to edit your profile.

I'm in NE Ohio, up by the beautiful Lake Erie! Thanks for letting me know about the profile. I actually figured it out right after I posted, so I had to edit it so I didn't look too misinformed -- but I guess you read it before that!!
Aaaah, my IL's live up in Strongsville, so we know that general area.
I'm not sure if there are any API groups up there, but I know Strongsville has a no-vax ped, so there must be some natural-living mamas in that area!

There is a group on yahoo that meet up. I wish I still had the link, but you can probably look it up.

Welcome! I am from Cleveland, but now live in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park (in Summit County near Akron) there is a nice sized community of active AP/Crunchy mamas in the Cleveland east and west sides, lorain county, as well as more south into summit county, etc....so I am sure there are some wherever you are

some local yahoo groups are:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEohioAPcrunchyMamas

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NBMofCleveland

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MosaicMotheringCircle

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ClevelandDiaperFreeBaby

there is also an AP forum, heres the link:

http://www.neednap.com/forum

also, there are lots of other fun groups like stitch n' bitch, LLLeague, etc...

feel free to pm me for more info on any of these groups.....there are also babywearing groups that meet but I dont think I have joined any of those

I really recommend Mosiac Mothering, a very nice casual friendly group that meets once a month. its smaller, but its packed with quality, if not quantity

there is also another thread on Mothering in the regional section:

I hope I did all those links right

Welcome to the boards
Hullo there! I think Melanie's got ya covered on all the local groups... It's a good area 'cause we keep busy!

Mosaic is at my house next Thursday, so if you want to meet a group of really nice folks, stop by!

Take care,
Laura
Thanks everyone for letting me know about all those groups! I will have to check them out.

I'm planning on going to a LLL meeting tomorrow, so hopefully that will be a good place to start!
BTW Jodie and Carrie, I went to the University of Akron so I'm pretty familiar w/ your neck of the woods too!
Are any of you aware of any groups that meet closer to Ashtabula, Trumbull, or Geauga counties in Ohio, or even right over the line into the greater Erie area of PA? Cleveland rocks
(but it is a bit of a drive for me)!

Hello and welcome from another Ohioan! I'm currently in SW Ohio, but will be moving back up to NE Ohio this summer to be closer to home.
I grew up in Medina County.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi!
