Wow! Nov is an exciting forum ladies!! Thanks for the warm welcome!!

Peacefulmommy-
We haven't narrowed a middle name down yet...I like Finn Marley, DP isn't crazy about it! We both like Finn Willem or William (my gp's name)-but I really like Finn Marley!! In fact, I'd almost use Marley as the first name, but again, DP isn't too fond of it. (Sometimes I just want to say OH WELL-too bad for you)
Terran is a great name I think, I also like names with meaning. I really wanted a name that means or implies peace-but couldn't find any I really like. Pax just doesn't do it for me!
I gotta say though, you and SarahCecile really made a good choice with Griffin! I love that name!!

Oh and Simone is such a pretty name!! Too bad I had an US today which totally confirmed that I will soon be Momma2Finn!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

1 and a half hours until midnight...looks like I'm having a November baby, too. Hi again to all of the other patiently waiting mamas, and hi to all of you other Nov mamas!

Finn is a great name, BTW, and so is Griffin! We are planning on Spencer, the meaning is pretty mundane, but we love how it sounds!

Welcome October mamas!!!

I lurked a bunch on your thread and know one of the Oct. moms IRL who had an unplanned unassisted b/c her babe came so quickly. Look forward to getting to know you better and sharing birth stories soon. Sooner for you than me as I am not due until the end of Nov. and we know the week we got pregnant.

We have two first names picked out that are gender nuetral (at leas to us, they are). The kid may end up with three different middle names b/c we cannot narrow it down to one. It's a really big deal to have to name something.

Welcome October mamas!

Melissa Honeybee, I love the name Spencer too. It's my doggie's name. She's a girl though, so everyone always says, "HER name is Spencer?" I can't explain it; it's just the name that came to me as I was driving home with my little teeny puppy in my lap.

Bailey228, I think you have chosen a beautiful name!

Peacefulmommy, Terren was my high school boyfriend's name. Everyone thought it was really cool, and he was definitely the only person any of us knew with that name. It was kind of funny too; my high school best friend's name is Terra, so I was always surrounded with earth energy.

So I finally got back to sleep last night. I think I'm nesting AGAIN today. I have made a mental list of several inane cleaning tasks...Oh well, at least the house will be clean. Well, it actually is clean already, so now I'm starting to feel a little OCD when I tell DP to put away that sweatshirt-it's the only article of clothing out of place in the whole house. I have never been like this...AAHHH (even my car is clean and vaccummed)

Bailey 228-
Middle names are hard!! I've been trying not to dwell on it too much, hoping for inspiration when he is finally in my arms!!
My mom doesn't have a middle name either, she's from Germany. come to think of it, all the older relatives over there don't have them, but everyone born after me does!
Do Ukranians have godparents? DP and I are in disagreement about godparents. Everyone in Germany has a godparent, and I want our son to have one-but DP's family has never had them. I guess they think it's a Catholic thing, but in Germany it's tradition.

Well, Happy Nov 1st everybody! Looks like all new Nov. mommas are now official!!!

I hadn't thought about it, but I should probably be checking out the Dec DDC! I guess I've been trying to be optimistic, but my due date is November 30, so, in all likelihood, I'll be over there.

hmm I don't know if Ukies have godparents. Hubby is out right now so I can't ask him. I know his family is greek orthodox, so I don't know if they have godparents in that religion or not. Neither of us are religous though so she probably won't have godparents in the religous sense but just to have someone who would take her if something happend to us. (probably my parents or my sister and BIL) And I don't understand why middle names are so much harder, it's not like they get used alot so they aren't as important as the first name. I guess it's because if you pick a bad middle name it can disrupt the flow of the whole name so it ends up sounding funky. Don't worry though it will come to you. We didn't decide on hers til about 2 weeks ago while we had her first name back at 20 weeks!

It really is a nice way to honor my g'pa and at the same time not sound really old-fashioned!! It's definitely a favorite around here!!

Momma2Finn: I Love Finn Marley! I was on a quest for names meaning *peace* as well and two that I found and liked were Oliver & Solomon. I also really like that Solomon can be shortened to Sol which is *sun*!!! Isaac, another that I like, means *he will laugh*...I thought that was great.

*Amy*: Did anyone ever shorten your high school sweetie's name? If so, to what? I love Terran/Thierran, but wouldn't want anyone shortening it to *Terry*...ick.

Regardless, Griffin (Finn) Sage is what I keep going back to OVER & OVER & OVER...think this little guy is trying to tell me something???!!

Bailey: Good luck to you in your natural induction attempts...I'm sending good labor vibes!

Hey fellow October/November DDcers:

I was due Oct 29th, but the beat goes on. I am trying to relax into it now. Fighting it is futile. The up side of a delayed birth was getting to enjoy Halloween with my 2 /1/2 yr old, completely fun and silly. the doctor scheduled induction for the 11th so we will start trying to naturally induce by this weekend. The whole "induce" thing scares me. I am 3cm dilated and apparently the cervix is soft, so, they say, when labor it begins, it should be fast and furious.
It really helps to hear all your stories...the humor keeps me going, the names are awesome...we think our son will be Aiden Ambrose or Aiden Zack. Both of the middle names are based on grandparent last names (an honoring thing).

Good luck to all of us, may we each have babies SOON!

Bailey228- are you doing alright? I just read your post from yesterday...keep us posted!!

Peacefulmommy-
My brother suggested the name Oliver last week, I had to give it a second thought...but I'm fairly sure this baby will be Finn! I didn't know Isaac meant he will laugh, that's really cool!

maschultz-
induction *YIKES* good luck with trying to induce naturally. I'm facing the hospital induction squad tomorrow....AHH!!!

momma2finn-how did it go with the induction Squad?

How about the rest of you October folks? I am still waiting, getting a bit calmer about it all...My NST went well, all still healthy...the 11/11 induce threat date looms but hopefully won't be necessary.

I wonder if my fears on this second go-around are slowing down this process for me. I wasn't really scared last time...this time I am and feel silly for worrying when last time only took 8+ hours and went relatively smoothly.

Perhaps I should have gotten a doula again...
