Hi!
:
My name is Amy, and I realized I starting posting in here without introducing myself as well. I am an aspiring novelist. By that, I mean I just want to finish one. I dont care if only family reads it, though it would be nice to get it to the masses, as there is a good message in it.
About me:
When i graduated high school, I went to the local community college, and my English 101 teacher sat me down and asked me what i wanted to do with my life. I said be a writer, and she laughed in my face, told me I was a horrible writer and to look into other majors, as I should never write again. Then she failed me. So finally, at the age of 26, I have started writing again. My husband was taking some college classes, and I was "helping" him with a paper. He was amazed at how fast I typed it up for him, and especially surprised that my "help" got him a A! So he told me to start writing something, and I did, and he gave me the best compliment ever "It's like reading a real book, I'd pay for this." and that was the confidence booster I needed to get going.
I have no idea how to go about publishing, my first goal is to write it, and then I'll move on from there. Anyone feel free to share advice on that process. Also, we were just wondering what kind of pay you get from selling a novel? is it percentages from sales? Or does the publishing company just give you a flat fee? We are just curious to these things, since I have set the lofty goal of outselling the Bible.
Totally kidding.

Please ignore all typos as well. I spend all day typing on my story, and chasing after my 6 month old, so when i get on here, I kind of let all grammar go out the window. haha
