I've put it off as long as possible, but now DS's hair is in his eyes and he's constantly moving it out of the way. I don't care that lots of people call him "her" (not that he looks anything like a girl, even with long hair!), he's got the most adorable curls, but I need to get the hair out of his eyes.
I took him to a shop to get his hair cut yesterday and he wouldn't let the lady touch him. The stylist said that many times the parents have to bring their child in a few times before they will let the stylist cut their hair. If I knew how to cut it, I would do it at home.
Any suggestions for getting DS to let someone trim his bangs???

It sounds silly but practice at home with him a couple times a day for a week or so. Have him sit with a towel around his neck and shoulders like the cape they use. Pretend to cut his bangs with your fingers all the while telling him that this is how the lady is going to cut his hair when you take him to the...(whatever you choose to call it so he knows what you mean) I always take mine to one of those places that deals mostly with children, but we still practice before we go.

Sorry, I sent this twice, didn't mean to and couldn't figure out how to unsend it. oopps!

Thanks for the info! I kept bringing up the subject of getting his hair trimmed, then decided to take him back today as I needed my hair trimmed, and the lady came out and cut his bangs while he sat next to me in the lobby, so it worked out. Then I put his little curls in an envelope and took a picture.
