About 3-4 weeks ago, my son cut his forehead pretty badly. He didn't need stitches, and they glued it shut and told me to keep his head relatively dry, to just cut the loose edges off the bandages as they peel away, that the bandages will eventually fall off on their own.

Well, they didn't. I think the damn thing is infected. It's puss-y and it smells. I can't pull the bandage off because it's stuck to his scab.

What do I do???

Something that is good to break down the bandage glue is skin so soft bath oil from avon. I used it when I had my thyroid removed since they taped it shut instead of stitching it worked very well. And didnt hurt the healing incision site.

Cooking oil can be helpfull to olive or corn.

The best time to pull off those steri-strips is just after a hot bath, when everything is softened up. The oil idea may help.
However, if you think his wound is infected, you might want your doc to take a look.
Alcohol and Hydrogen Peroxide inhibit growth of healthy tissue.
