I am only 6 weeks pregnant but I have already had heartburn/acid reflux twice. It happens in the middle of the night when I get up to pee. I have been drinking some Mylanta to stop it but I hate using it so early in my pregnancy.<br><br>
Any and all suggestions welcome!

Soymilk huh? I had never heard about that and I know at the end it gets so bad for me!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"> Thanks for the tip!

Yeah! I've no idea how or why it works, but it does. For me, at least! And, unlike Mylanta, which I wouldn't take when pregnant anyway, it doesn't make me want to hurl.

I second the papaya enzyme remedy. I usually take it right after I eat and it really seems to help with digestion. Although it also helps when I get a sudden attack such as you do in the middle of the night. Good luck!

Where do I get the papaya enzyme? Tums just don't cut it at all for me. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> Pepto and everything else falls to the wayside it seems!

Papaya here, too. I get mine at my local co-op, but probably any health food store should stock it.<br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love">

Hi, just wanted to mention that the nurse at my prenatal clinic--who is very open to natural remedies and very well versed in the literature--said that there have been some studies linking papaya to early pg loss. I don't have the refs, sorry!
