Hello,

I have finally been able to track down some Grapefruit Seed Extract - it is not pure, but is 67% Vegetable Glycerin and 33% Citricidal.

1) What would be a good concentration/amount to use if I want to use it as an antibacterial spray in place of bleach?

2) What can I replace with this GSE - bleach, cleaner???

2) Any other good suggestions for uses for the GSE?

Thanks so much.

GSE was my favorite antibacterial until someone here mentioned the possibility of using Triclosan in it as a preservative (google triclosan+gse for multiple links). I found many medical sites that debunk it (no surprise) and all of the manufacturers claimed it was safe (no surprise again).

Anyway, I am still undecided what I think about it, and use it sparingly now.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. If anyone knows anything more, please educate me.

Great suggestions - do I adjust the number of drops used given the GSE I have is in a glycerin base, and thus not 100% GSE?

Should I triple the number of drops given the GSE I have is 33%GSE / 67% Glycerin??

Thanks.

No, you do not need to adjust it at all. This is for the GSE that has glycerin in it already. I don't think you can purchase it as a basic extract, it's just to strong on its own. Even with the glycerin in it , it should NEVER be used undiluted.

I have herpes.
I apply GSE directly to the lesion, 3x daily, for 3 days...GONE!!!!
Works much better than any rx I have ever used....
It does burn....I usually sing, "Burn Baby Burn" while applying it.
