I made my first pair of Longies <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin"> and am trying to lanolize them. I _thought_ that I did it right - but apparently not<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> . I melted a pea (a large one) sized amount in a cup of hot water and added a little baby shampoo. I added this mixture to a sink of cold water and put the longies in for about half an hour. I didn't rinse them and then I laid them out to dry. When they were fully dry we tried them out and the pee soaked right through<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/blush.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="blush"> . What did I do wrong? The longies are made of 100% wool. My sister-in-law said that maybe it is hard water. Any ideas?
