We are leaving for my sons Pre-k and he has pulled the black strap and it tightened the crouch and shoulder straps. How do I loosen them?

i don't want this to sound rude, but i have to say it.
you should completely read your manual for your carseat. When you don't know something as simple and basic like how to adjust the harness tightness, it makes me think you haven't read the manual. Which then makes me question whether or not the seat is installed correctly, being used correctly, etc.
If you have lost your manual, Graco will send you a new one, or they are available to read online at Graco's website.
Please read the manual completely, and become comfortable with your child's carseat...play with it a bit....misuse can be just as dangerous as not using a seat at all.

Never mind.
All I will say is I pulled up the manual online and found the adjustment lever.

BTW, I did not install the seat. My husband installed it. We have only had this seat a couple of weeks. Our two seats are Evenflo Triumphs DLX.

Peace mama
I'm sure there was no intent to offend. I'm glad you found the info you need! It's important that parents know how to adjust all of their seats, and with your others being Triumph's it's logical you wouldn't know how the A-Lock style adjusters work. We just did the adjusters chapter in CPS class today and there are about a million different styles!

It is worth noting, for all the lurkers who will read this, that you really should be adjusting the harness regularly. Unless your child is wearing the exact same weight clothing every day, it will most likely be neccessary to adjust the harnessing often so that it fits snugly and you aren't able to pinch the webbing at the shoulder.
