My son is not a big art/craft kid but we have a bunch of stuff from his preschool already. All different shapes and big papers and 3-D stuff. I was thinking a big portfolio? Or do you send a lot of it to relatives? Do you save it ALL? I've been saving it all but its turning into a mess. How do you organize it all?

We have an under the bed container for each child. REALLY important stuff goes in there. Everything else gets mailed away or pitched. Because I absolutely love EVERY thing they do - I take pix of them with their work before the work goes away. We all feel much better about it. So I have tons of pix on the 'puter with cheesy kids and art... one day I'll declutter that - maybe when they are 50

I have sometimes photographed the largest stuff and tossed it. I agree, let them be in the picture beaming with pride.

I also do a picture of them with their materpeice and then once they know we have it saved on the computer they are fine sending it out to others.

For papers I scan them in once a month and print them out from snapfish.com as 4x6 pictures.

For other things I take pictures of them and again print them out.

I plan (and do this for my mom for my stepsister already) on buying a leather bound photo book from snapfish at the end of every school year with the date and a picture of them (their school picture) from that year on the front page.

My 8 yo has a shelf in his room for the 3D stuff he doesn't want to part with. Every so often, we clean it out together. For the paintings and paper stuff, we have a few large sized pizza boxes. They fit well under bed/dresser/sideways in closet, etc. I has worked really well so far!
