I'm a little anxious because dh and I are trying to prevent conception of kid #3, and I believe I ovulated on Monday, which means that we should hold off doing what couples do until Thursday or Friday... Problem is we had intercourse this morning! My cycle only recently returned after cutting down on nursing ds this past month or two, and it had been so long since I'd had a normal cycle that I'd forgotten the four day post-ovulatory rule, and thought that as long as I was sure I'd already ovulated, we were ok. But then I checked online this morning, and was like, oh shoot!

Does anybody have any idea how likely it is that we conceived 1.5-2 days after "peak"?

It wouldn't be the end of the world if we are pregnant again, but life will be pretty hectic soon if that's the case!

Thanks!

Chances are pretty low I'd say, the egg only last 24 hrs. And I know it only takes one time, but think about the fact that it can take 3+ mnths of TTC during perfect timing to conceive for most couples.

Ok. I know that for dh and I, becoming pregnant (both times) it took only one month, not even TTC (but not TTA either)...so maybe I'm unusually fertile or something, I dunno. But knowing the egg only lasts 24 hours is definitely good news. I wonder why there's the 4 day rule then?

The reason for that rule is that you can release 2 ages as far apart as 24 hours so the second egg would also have a 24 hour life span.
