That's convulvulous (I think that's how it's spelled - it's a perennial form of morning glories). If you leave it, it will twine up and (maybe even pull over whatever it's twining around) give you pretty white flowers later in the summer. But the plant itself is a bastard. It's all over my veggie plot, threatening to strangle my plants. We don't spray, and the only thing we've found remotely helpful is to dig them out. You have to dig very very carefully, as any tiny piece of root left in the soil will regenerate itself.

Yup- I was going to vote for wild morning glory, too. While I am all for (very carefully controlled) morning glories, those wild ones can be a pain in the neck. I haven't got the patience to dig them all up, but I try to yank them all out every few days.

On a positive note, they can be nice in the right setting!
