Please ladies if you have any suggestions...they would be greatly appreciated

I am soooooooo tired! DD is 8 months old and we have co-slept since birth. We dont even own a crib.

Everynight DP goes to bed around 8 and DD and I join him around 10 or 11.
DP gets up at 3am (I know...crazy hours) and DD and I usually sleep right through it and get up on our own around 6 or 7....

Well lately...We go to bed like normal but she has decided that she wants to get up and "play" anywhere from 1am to 3am when DP has to get up for work. And since she crawls and stands now...I cant just doze off because she could seriously get hurt...SOOOO....I have been getting up with her at her weird hours, taking her downstairs as to not wake DP and waiting for her to get tired enough and nurse her to sleep on the sofa!

I am a WRECK!!!!! Today when DP got home from work he felt so bad for me that he watched DD while I went upstairs and took a nap...but of course that just makes me feel like crap because I should be spending time with my family...not sleeping..

I feel like we might have to break down and buy a crib for DDs own safety
I was planning to co-sleep for at least 2 years but I dont think DD is going to have it!

Thanks for the vent!

My dd does that from time to time. Decides that it's morning and playtime. When she goes through those annoying stages I do the following:

1. Put a mattress on the floor. I let her play with a few quiet toys next to us, and I can doze off. That way I don't get too tired.
2. When she asks for "sides" I don't let her nurse, because that just seems to wake her up more. I tell her that "sides" went to sleep now. She doesn't like that at all and usually starts crying, so I hug her and try to calm her down that way. If she gets too worked up, I will nurse her, but again - I'll stop if it starts to wake her up.
3. If all this bothers dp, I keep a mattress on the floor in the other room.

They do seem to go through these wierd stages. If all else fails, and I find myself exhausted during the day, I make sure the living room is 100% baby-proof, lie down on the rug and take short cat-naps to keep myself going.

She'll grow out of it eventually!! Hang in there!!
