The dr said to put it on my nipples 4 times a day, leave it on for an hour or two, then rinse it off. What actually happens is that I put it on and leave it on until right before nursing him or pumping. I nurse or pump, then put it back on. At night I wash it off before bed because he co-sleeps and nurses several times at night.

You can use vinegar--yeast can't live in vinegar. Put it in the rinse cycle of your wash, rinse your nipples in it after nursing, and put a teeny tiny bit in a peri bottle with water. Use that for wiping your LO. That, with the GV, seemed to kick it for us.

Grapefruit seed extract is recommended...250mg capsules 3 or 4 times a day helps to kick the overgrowth of yeast, according to Jack Newman's yeast protocol. You can also take probiotics and give some to your LO too. When we had thrush, I just opened a capsule, rolled my finger in and let DS suck it off before a feeding twice or 3 times a day.
Definitely do the vinegar on your laundry, baby's butt, etc. If you use cloth diapers, the sun is said to kill yeasties too, so try sunning the diapers.
Good luck mama, ouch!

Grapefruit seed extract. The liquid stuff can be diluted in water (about 20 drops in an ounce of water). Then you apply to your nipples and your baby's mouth every hour. When I did this, I felt improvement within a couple of hours. Good luck

You can also cut out simple sugars in your diet to get rid of it faster and keep it from coming back. Yeast flourishes on sugar in your system. So sugary treats, sugary cereals, white bread, sugary juices, etc is what you need to cut out.

Oh yeah, and anything cranberry helps too.

Good luck!
