I need some help here diapering my heavy wetting, long and skinny thighed boy.

I am trying to decide what diapers to buy, since my son is starting to outgrow some of his smalls. His small Snap-ezs are getting way too short now.

He has a very long torso and skinny thighs. He still fits in his small Fuzzibunz, but they are getting short too. He is still comfortably on the tightest snap setting in the waist and I just started to snap him on the second thigh setting. We have had serious issues with poo leaking and wicking out the legs of some of our diapers.

He is also becoming quite a heavy wetter. At night we are now having more issues with wicking and leaks. I use either a Fleece Snap-ez with night insert or Fuzzibunz with microfiber and Joeybunz.

I am planning on trying some fitted diapers and wool covers for home use. I have ordered some Bijou Baby Gear fitteds and 2 Bijou Baby Gear Wool covers to try.

For daycare and the diaper bag I need an AIO or pocket.

I am also thinking about ordering Baby Softwraps AIO smalls.

Other diapers I was considering are VeryBaby Simply Nights Medium Long, VeryBaby AIO Hybrid Medium Long, Snap-Ez AIO Skinny Large, Samuel Fitteds, Little Beetle ONE and Aristocrat soaker.

Any other diapers I should try? What size should I get? Do you think his thighs might chunk up a bit solving the problem or will I always have a skinny thighed boy?

Help

I really had good luck with Little Beetles with my very heavy wetting dd. They fit really trim. She was soaking through most everything but the LB held up at night and during the day for longer outings, too.

It is a short rise, but maybe you can buy one and try it on him quickly. If it doesn't fit you can return it or sell it. They are designed to fit like underwear so the rise will naturally be shorter than on other diapers. As long as his personal parts are not hanging out, the shorter rise should be okay.

I just got some Little Beetle dipes and my son is the same way...long and skinny....I am a bit worried that he will outgrow the rise on them too since they are a lower rised dipe (esp since boys tend to pee in the front of the dipe)...right now they are working pretty good though since I washed them and dried them a few more times....he's 13 lbs and 26 inches long but skinny waist and thighs....so he's kind of a hard fit...I think he could wear a medium as far as his rise goes in some dipes...but I've been buying smalls because they fit his waist and legs better.

I could have written your post! My ds is 2 yrs old, he's got 10" thighs and only weighs 25 lbs. He's my little stringbean

The same thing happened with his fuzzi bunz, the smalls fit everywhere except for rise (and the mediums legs were HUGE on him). Same thing happened with Snap-Ezs too - they got short fast. PT FBs work really well for him, you may want to give them a try.

For night, we use FCB night lights (nearly impossible to get ahold of) and Very Baby Simply Nights - medium long
Those work great.

We cover it with an aristocrat. Recently, the crats leg holes got too stretched out and he leaked really bad at night - now when I wash them, I am purposely rough on the leg holes so they felt up a bit and get snugger
lol I would love to find more wool covers that work great at night myself, so I don't have much advice in the wool department.
