I just knitted up a batch of simple garter stitch washcloths- and I want to edge them... but can't find anything in the knitting books I have. Any suggestions for a new knitter?
A nice simple stitch to border them a bit would be great.
thanks!

Do you know how to crochet? My nana crochet's the edges of dishtowels with a simple stitch ... I don't know the name, but it's like she crochet's three times into the same stitch so the edge has a little ruffle to it. Maybe someone with more technical crochet experience can help (as long as you know how to crochet! ).

You could pick up stitches around the edges and do a seed stitch border, but I'd be more inclined to shell stitch crochet around. Knitting would just be much slower.
