I'm planning on BF'ing and am looking for pajamas to wear in the hospital. They need to be nice-looking, comfortable, not too revealing, and easy to nurse in. I'm having a tough time finding anything I like online.

Well, that's good advice, too! This is all new to me, so I appreciate any input.

I had my son at home, but just wore gowns while I was seeing visitors the first few days- I looked for ones that buttoned down the front.

Hi,

I am still pregnant, but this is what I am planning to wear when I get home from the hospital:

Hopefully the link works. It is a surplice-neck gown from Penney's, which seems to work really well with the sleep nursing bra from Motherhood. I have been wearing it for a while during preganancy, and it has held up well in the wash (I don't put it in the dryer) and is very comfortable.

I bought another nursing gown with the front pleat and the nursing openings, but the openings are not where my breasts are, so I don't plan to buy any more of those. Plus they have so much extra fabric. The crossover style of the nightgown I posted is much more streamlined and flattering. I plan to buy several more.

I the hospital I wore the hospital gowns, they had nursing gowns with the front pleat. At home I would either sleep in just a nursing bra and pj pants or Majamas which have the same wrap style as suomi's gown but are a bit pricy. I wore a lot of wrap style tops after I got the Majamas because it was much easier with my baby because I had overactive letdown and he could only control/handle the flow if he was higher than my breast (hard to do with tops/gowns that have access from below). But my best advice would be not to stock up on all one style or have just one plan, but to try several different things to see what works best for you two and go from there.

A friend sent me a cute pair of pajamas from pajamagram.com right before DD's birth for me to wear while receiving visitors in the hospital. TMI alert: Within minutes of making myself look adorable, the bottoms were covered with blood and urine. Ruined and never worn again. I wore the hospital gown for the rest of my brief stay. At home, I stuck to sweats and DH's tshirts. TMI again, I urinated everytime I stood up for the first few days. So I kept a steady supply of old sweats on hand. And don't forget about the blood.

I would roll the waist band down low so it was way under my belly (so from crotch seam to waist would be maybe about 5"--basically my palm height plus the rolled band) and it never bothered me. Now, wearing actual pants during the daytime where I'd have to go out in front of people and they couldn't be indecently low that just plum didn't happen for a long while...
