I finally got all the ends woven in for the baby blanket I knitted (slightly modified Nina Shawl from Mason Dixon) and I think I want to line one side in fabric, which I have never done before.

Please, guide me, Wise Women of MDC...How do I line a blankey? What kind of material would you use?

I promise I'll post pics once it's all done if you help me...

Unless you are going to do embroidery on it, like the blanket the other poster linked to, I wouldn't do it. I tried it on a log cabin blanket (also mason-dixon) and it didn't work out too well. The knitting was soo stretchy that it gets all gape-y and saggy and just didn't look nice at all. The other thing you might try is tie-ing it like a quilt, but I'm not sure how that would look...

thanks! i really like the idea of finishing it like the knitty blanket...i've always liked that pattern and don't know why i didn't think of it
