Okay, so now about half my SOS dipes and a couple other dipes are ruined.
Well, they are FUNCTIONAL, but not pretty. They are coming out of the wash with darker brown stains on them in the area where DS peed. It's happened on his joeys, too. I'm not sure why?
: My washing style has not changed at all and this just started happening about a month ago. DS is on more solids though, so is that why??? HELP! Please.

Sounds like you might need to wash your washer...............does the instruction booklet tell you how to do that do get any buildup out? Also, maybe your pipes are rusting, and it's getting into the wash water and reacting with pee?
Just guessing.......

Hmmm, I have NO CLUE how to wash my washer, LOL. Where can I find out how to do that? Our house is only 5 years old, so do you think the pipes could already be rusty? If so, what do you do about that?

And, do you think there is ANY hope for me to get the brown spots out? I am so distraught! I have 2 gorgeous tester dipes from a WAHM that I got only last week and one already has the awful brown spot in the front and on the soaker.

Hmmm...
:

You don't have rust in your water do you? Or hard water?

We have hard water and haven't had problems with the brown spots you are talking about. I'm wondering if it isn't the fact that you're DS IS on more solids and his poop (sorry) is of a different consistency and that is causing the staining.

I don't really know how to wash your washer, but you could try running vinegar through it once or twice to get rid of the build-up.

You use vinegar...just like if you were cleaning a coffee pot or something.
Put a couple cupfuls of white vinegar in a HOT wash....let it soak, then run it through.

Since your house is only 5 years old, I would think that your plumbing is plastic (well not plastic, but the stuff that looks like plastic! :LOL ), so you shouldn't have rusting problems with your plumbing.

Have you tried soaking your dipes in Oxy-Clean?
It can be hard on dipes, but you say they're ruined anyway, so it's worth a shot to get 'em clean.
