I know I am supposed to do my kegels all the time. But it's so hard! And I'm such a slacker! Will you kind ladies please give me some motivation? And how many am I supposed to be doing per day? Every time I do them I feel like I should be in bed with my husband (not at work, in the car, etc.). Anyone else have this "problem"? Thanks!

You really don't "have" to do them DURING pregnancy and in fact the new "recommendation" Ob's will give you is to NOT do any during pregnancy. My prenatal yoga instructor was talking to us about this recently. She still believes they are beneficial because it gets you used to using those mucles and used to it for AFTER the birth (when it's more important).

I guess the "argument" is that doing them during pregnancy will make you "too toned" and it will be harder to actually push the baby out. Whereas, after you give birth you're all stretched out so the point is to tighten stuff back up.

The moral of my message is don't feel bad! You are technically following recommendation lol.

My prenatal yoga instructor preaches pelvic floor exercies. She has us do them back to front then release. This is not the same a kegels. She says it helps you learn how to tell your body to release on command... and that entire area will be toned and you will have the 'mind body connection thing' I try to remember to do them in a supported squat positon (on a bolster or rolled up blanket epecially after 35 weeks).

She says 300 a day... I dont think i ever get that far.

Thanks, ladies. Good to know I'm not the only one who has trouble remembering this! I am trying to do a few every day. Good luck to all!
