He's taking a pre-ballet class, and loves it. All the other boys wear black tights/leggings/shorts and white shirts. I've just had DS wear solid colors, which the teacher is fine with, but he's just asked me for the third week in a row if he can have a ballet outfit. But I can't find what I'm looking for, even on dance sites.

Ideally it would be black capris or long shorts, knit material. Not tights. Any ideas?

thanks,
Can you get the karate pants from American Apperal and trim them? I Love the love of rolled cuffs (not the big rolled look, but the rolled seam look)

Check the girls departments, too, if you can find something black without flowers (or flowers at the cuff which could be hemmed). Boys clothes tend to be wide, bulky, with big patch pockets. Girls' knit pants might be snugger without being tight leggings and be a better compromise. Kids R Us used to have a selection of plain mix and match solid colored knit pants and shirts.

When I googled I got this pretty quickly

http://www.dance4less.com/520C_6_dance_pants.htm

But there should be black bike shorts in girls sections online pretty easy to find, and then you are probably going to want a white ribbed tank top long enough to tuck in.

I'd say AA, too. Or black knit capris from Target, Old Navy, Gap, etc.-- just look in the girl's section. My son went through a phase where he would ONLY wear soft, stretchy, cotton pants and we had to shop exclusively in the girls' departments.

Target has some dancewear. They might have those, too. I know they have plain cotton footless black tights, but that's not quite the same as you can see the seam on the bum. You could check them out, though.

Do you like what the other boys are wearing? If so I'd just ask their moms where they got it.

Thanks, mommas! I think AA will be perfect. And of course I was just in a co-op! Oh, well.

I don't love what the other boys wear. One wears tights, which, I admit, I'd rather avoid. I'll also pay attention to the girls' departments when I'm out and about.

thanks again,
