Ok... I asked about this 2 weeks ago...

BUT NOW! They are sending me certified mail, hastleing my Dr., Having my Dr.'s nurses call me, and sending me propaganda!

I am also hearing that they will call CPS if I persist!

I am adament about NOT getting this test. I will get the "form" today and PRAY that they don't call CPS... I am SOOOO not in the mood for that!

Edited to add: Does anyone have any experience with this?!?!?

How odd. No one here gave a flying rat that I didn't do it. I think this is one of those things that varies greatly by state. Hopefully someone else from CA has some good info for you.

Can you afford to contact a lawyer and find out what your actual legal right is to refuse the screening?

Nope... but I do know you have to refuse it on "religious" reasons.

I can't find out what CA's definition of "religious refusal" is. I know in NY we don't have to have a clergy or anything sign our forms. My husband and I are pagan/Reform Jewish and don't have a clergy or anyone to sign anything, so we're just stating it's against our religious beliefs. If they want to fight us, that's fine, but they'll have a hell of a time.

I would suggest calling the number at the top of the first page and ordering the form. HTH!

Anyone ever consider starting their own religion? Seriously, I think if you get 500 people or more it can be legal. There's an Elvis based religion, one that worships beer, a nudist religion, church of 4:20... Sometimes I want to start my own religion based on the ideals of attatchment parenting, just so I'd be religiously exempt from all this BS.
