I know I could do a search and find the answer to this, but I'm feeling lazy today

Right now I'm using strictly Fuzzi Bunz, and I've never had a problem with them until last week. I couldn't figure out why DD's clothes were always wet, sometimes as soon as I would change her. I decided to drip a couple drops of water onto the fleece of a clean diaper, and guess what...it didn't absorb. The water just layed on top of the fleece like it had been scotchguarded or something!!!!!

So - my question is....does repelling require stripping with a lot of hot washes, or should I try the Dawn detergent thing first, and then a lot of hot washes? What is making the fleece repel like that?
