My ds (who's 3, and approx. 35 pounds) is about to need to be moved to a new seat. My dd (who's 4 months) is about to outgrow her car seat. We've had ds in a Britax Roundabout, which we love. But want to move him to a seat that has a higher weight limit (current one is 40#'s) and still has the 5-point harness. Then we'll move dd into the Britax (rear facing, of course). We just would REALLY prefer to keep him in a 5-point harness, and definately skip using the plain ol' booster seats. We really need some help.
Any ideas?

We have the Britax Marathon. Love it! It goes to 65 lbs. using the 5 point harness. The Britax Husky goes to 80 lbs. with the 5 point harness but I've heard that it is too big for many vehicles. The only other seat that I know of that allows you to use the internal 5 point harness past 40 lbs. is the "Nania Airway" I didn't consider them because I read that they are plagued with recalls and several parent reviews said that they didn't consider it a safe option.

We have a britax wizard. It goes to 65 lbs also. Britax also has one or two new seats out this year that go to 65lbs. Right now they're only available at toysrus/babiesrus. You might do a search of their website.

I love britax and don't plan to have my children in anything less.

We got a Husky when DS1 was 2 and we love it. It is rather ginormous, but it was fine in our Saturn SL2 and fits perfectly in the captain's chair in our old Odyssey van.

Another Marathon user here!

I love our Marathon. Our dd who is 2.5years old and about 32 pounds fits perfectly. Just let me tell you, that sucker doesn't move when it is installed. I can wrench on it all I want and I think I would pull the who seat out first!
It's not too big I don't think.. Dd is very comfy in it. You can use the 5 point harness, and its pretty easy to clean up after messes.

I wouldn't recommed you carry it through airports or switch cars too much, that thing is heavy!

But, when dd3 needs a new seat(currently in an infant carrier) We're going to get another Marathon.

I did see the new Britax seats a BRU when I was there last. Didn't have much time to look at them though. They looked very much like the Marathon.
