my almost 1yr old is very adventurous and I used to put her in her bouncy seat while I showered but now she can get herself out of it (shes a nut) and I cant let her roam around the bathroom while I shower getting into everything, I mean I only take like 5 min but what can I do with her to keep her safe and out of trouble?

My DS is the same way. Honestly until recently, he took a bath with me. That way we were both clean and he wasn't in trouble. You can also baby proof one room completely and put up gates. We have a play room, so that's where he goes if I am cleaning or something. He likes it. Also, you might want to x-post in the toddler forum.

Can you baby proof your bathroom so that she can play there while you shower?
I bet she'd have fun playing in there if you just made sure there was nothing that she could get hurt with while you showered.
Or, could she do her shower with you? My son loves to do bath time with me.
We are lucky that we have a separate shower. The floor is flat. I put him in the shower, on the flat floor, and he sits and plays. He used to bring a toy in, but now (at 18 months), he just splashes in the water.

For my daughter I had the bathroom babyproofed, then brought in a couple of toys that would occupy her. She really liked those foam road sets that we normally play with in the tub. She would put the road together with interlocking pieces, then drive the cars (normally they would stick on the tub walls, but she just played with them on the floor). I would peek out every minute or so to talk to her about specific cars/buses/motorcycles, etc. We also played peek-a-boo with me peeking out one side or the other of the shower curtain and her waiting with anticipation to see which side I would appear on.

Sometimes I sit my 7 month-old son in the floor of the shower with me. Our drain is slow, so a little water pools in the tub while I shower and he loves to play in it! Phillip has a couple bath toy that he really enjoys, so I get clean and he has a ball!

I have shifted to showering at night when hubby is home. Aidan either baths with Da while I shower, or they just play together. Our bathroom is really big and open and there is no door...it sorta blends into the bedroom by a tiny hall, so it's nearly impossible to get him to stay in the room. I used to put him in a packnplay thing and scoot it up next to the shower because he didn't like to be IN the shower. Now the PnP is on it's side and he loves it as a 'fort'...lol. Sometimes I get in the bath with him in the mornins if he's missed a bath for a few eves....he has become veerrrry decisive about whether or no it's bathnight for him...lol. If it's not, he just plays in the sink and we sorta 'birdbath' it a little.

If I need a shower when DH isn't home I just take DS in with me. He's 11 months, and what I do is I just sit him down at the end of the shower with a couple of toys. That way he is right there and I can move him/watch him as I shower. He is normally pretty good about playing with his toys in the water while I shower, but if there is anything on the tub edge it ends up outside the tub quickly and I do have to keep an eye on him so he doesn't stand up and try to walk around the bathtub. Other then that though he is normally fairly happy playing with his toys as I shower.

I shower with dd or bathe with her (she's 6mo) if I want to shower alone then I wait until dh is there. But really, I like showering with her

What if you baby proof the bathroom but have a "special drawer" for her with fun things she can play with while you're in there.

i shower with my dd. she sits in the tub and plays with her bath toys while i wash myself. she loves being in the tub while we take a shower. she often closes the drain so that she gets a bath while i shower. when i am done washing myself, i wash her. it's the easiest way to get us both clean.

We recently had the same problem. I used to put her in her exersaucer, but then she outgrew it. I try to shower when she naps, but when that doesn't work out, I put her in her crib with a big pile of books and she just "reads" until I'm done. I was actually really surprised when this worked because she used to always scream if I tried to put her in her crib awake. I would try putting toys or stuffed animals in and she would just throw them all out, but she LOVES books and this seems to be working well.

I shower with the adventurious LO's. They get clean, and after it's all done I get some alone time because they are exhaused and ready for a nap.
